Why do the Britsh live in a Fantasy world with Kings & Queens & Princesses?

When did real life become a fantasy? I see that kind of stuff everyday on the TV and internet! I don't care how many times Pam Anderson gets married or poses in Playboy! This is part of history whether you believe it or not or like it or not! It just is! Wouldn't most people in real life say the people on Y/A lived in a fantasy also!
