Do you HAVE TO HAVE an agent if you plan on doing modeling? 10 pts.?

I plan on puting my soon to be 2 yr old through modeling, but dont want to waste HIS money( no im not the kind of parent that will just take his money) on a agent if I DONT HAVE to arnt hey just for help anyways like booking hoots and what not.? So would i have to have one though for a agency to even see him.?
